* Basic search on all fields
* Selecting a collection and viewing the items for just that collection

* Option for where to save attachments
* Tag support
* Modifying notes
* Icons to show if an attachment is downloaded already (partial)
* Multiple Author records

I am mostly using the app to take notes, especially when I can't use the laptop. My problem though is that when I add anything to an existing note, I lose all text formatting including new lines, bold text, text highlighting, etc. I like to keep my notes tidy and organized so I can easily find whatever I need, and the absence of formatting makes it super complicated. I would appreciate if it's possible to solve the issue.

I have tried several of the other Android Zotero apps in the Play store and this one is the most consistent. I also like the ability to download my entire collection, as I have this running on a dedicated e-reader with plenty of storage, it means I can grab an article quickly and not worry about if I have downloaded it or not. I would like the library/collections interface to be a bit more intuitive, and the ability to sort by date added, not just date modified. Sometimes I do bulk changes to citations that shift older items to the top of a collection.

The sync works, papers could be downloaded, there is the folder structure. The search works as well. However, in my case I keep my papers in a Dropbox folder, so I can easily navigate through them using that. And the search works, too. And the folder structure works much more convenient in Dropbox. In my understanding the whole point of Zotero is to improve organization of your papers, not just to read them. Yes, sync with Zotero database is fine, but in the app there should be Zotero's sorting and searching and tagging. If you keep your pdfs in some cloud drive, then this app may be not for you.

It works! I have it syncing with Webdav successfully, download attached documents etc. Unfortunately the interface it is very buggy. The list of my libraries is not displayed correctly (cannot scroll) and the way that collections are selected is ambiguous. Update 2019/10: Lately, I also have sync problems. It might be a problem of the interface as well, as syncing completes successfully but changes are not displayed.

Can you let me know what I can do to actually view my web snapshots? Usually I get binary junk showing up as the app opens a content:// URL. Once in a while it comes up right. It might be attempting to open PDFs as content:// links. That clearly isn't working. I just can't seem to get it to change the app for opening PDFs via content://*.pdf URL. I like the app. I would just like to use it to store different types of media from HTML to PDF.

I have cursorily tested the few alternatives to Zotdroid, and this app works best. It is easy to use and to set up, it is stable and has the most important features, including custom webdav storage (with the ability to download all or selected files as the dev pointed out in reply to my earlier review). Although it doesn't perhaps have the most aesthetically pleasing UX, I can only recommend this app.

Nice app! Definitely a must for people managing references. However, there is something I cannot like about it but maybe it could get fixed: I want to be able to read my pdfs from my tablet usingy favourite pdf reader, annotate my pdfs, and then synchronize my annotations on my laptop. This is apparently not possible with zotdroid given that, although I can open attachments with my favourite pdf reader, I cannot really modify the attachment. If a fix to this is done it would be amazing!

At long last an Android client that lets me browse my Zotero libraries. Most of my libraries are shared. I can browse my shared libraries and incl. the (sub-) collection trees and then look at the individual items incl. attached PDF. The interface is a bit screwy, but that's no concern of mine. It works!

Great to have my Zotero library with me. lots of features remain on the wishlist of course, but this is the first Android client I've seen that can handle big databases and sync properly. Much thanks to the developer.

I am not really sure what use this app has. It downloads a list of my zotero library with the abstract field somewhat truncated. Can I add references to my zotero library? Nope. Can I manually insert a reference from here into a doc opened in Word? Nope. I have a copy of all my PDFs on Dropbox so what is this for? Seems to be as useful as Endnote's non-existent app.

Zotero that works where others have failed. This definitely seems to be a work in progress, but I'd like to give this app a 5-star review (and my money) to hopefully inspire future work. One feature which I think would be cruicial is adding "sharing" capabilities to have links or pdfs get uploaded to zotero. I usually wind up using my phone as a collection tool for exploration and finding new links, upload them to a different service, and then read them later in a reference manager. This usually happens through the Android sharing API. Is Zotdroid still being actively maintained? If so, would it be possible to get this feature? Otherwise, would it be possible to contribute time or money to get this feature? Thanks, Sam

Almost perfect! Just wish I could sync notes, highlights and annotations.. A dark theme would be awesome too. Edit : Thanks for the prompt reply!

Hi Benjamin, I apologize. I realized after several attempts that my wifi was unstable yesterday. Once I realized that I have reinstalled and everything works fine. Sorry again for the false alarm!

OK but does not remember my sign in details despite repeatedly putting them in and ticking correct box. Needs to be a lot of further development. Not a slick user experience.

Can't really do anything but read with app, waste of space: real waste that there are no good zotero apps, Zandy is much better but also misses so much functionality its amazingly irritating to use... this whole zotero thing could be great if someone just takes an interest in developing it...

Jav. F. Nov 4, 2018

It works great for reading, but I was hoping to also be able to add papers to my library, and I was disappointed. Good job nonetheless.

Good but shared library are not refeshed. Navigation is imperfect, like you can open a shared library really.

So good so far, only things its lacking is the ability to add PDFs and Id REALLY like to see my Zotero Saved Searches, are those stored locally or on the cloud? I don't know...

Dav. G. Mar 16, 2019

Nice idea but with my library of over 2000 articles the search function does not return results (I waited 30 seconds on several attempts).

Chr. K. Jun 26, 2019

Doesn't really work for me. Slow and incomplete sync. Maybe my library is too large...

Bru. H. Jan 12, 2019

After few tries,the app works well with third webdav. Is it possible to sync to webdav when I changed the attachment?

Jos. B. Apr 29, 2019

I sync my own files so I'd prefer to set this up without a Zotero account.

Mat. S. Apr 1, 2019

Works great for reading pdfs from your Zotero account. Thanks for building this!

Nice to have webdav support.

Ond. D. Nov 2, 2019

Doesn't even connect to my Zotero.

Joh. B. Mar 21, 2020

Can't add notes

Jam. R. Nov 17, 2018

The interface is clean and fast. I am able to sync and view my zotero database easily. It syncs my PDFs from box cloud service. I had issues with syncing at first but the developer work with me and I got it working. The app is not perfect but I can still highly recommend it. If there are issues the developer will address it.

This app has lots of potential especially for someone like me that works as a research assistant for academics. However, it does not sync properly when your library is too complex. I also like that you can edit tags, but the user interface can be improved. Not very intuitive or nice to look at.

A. G. u. May 30, 2018

This is definitely one of the better Zotero apps, however it lacks some key record fields that I like to have on the go - Call numbers and DOIs. If these were added or better yet I have the option of choosing what fields to display, that would be great. Also, copy to clipboard would be great as well (particularly for DOIs). Eitherway, shows potential, just needs more customizability in terms of record fields to meet my needs.

Terrible UI, Bugs everywhere, very limited functionality. Wish I could get my money back.
