The support platform was developed as part of the project Improving the Quality of Education through the Establishment of a Teacher Education Portal, implemented by the Institute for the Advancement of Education in partnership with UNICEF in Serbia and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, through funding from the Swiss Development Agency and cooperation.
The Teacher Education Portal (NOP) provides online support for public interest vocational training programs implemented by the Institute for the Advancement of Education. All programs of public interest are free of charge for education staff and are approved by the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development in accordance with the objectives of the Education Strategy and identified priority areas, which the Minister publishes every two years.

The Teacher Education Portal offers online training that aims to cover the most current reform processes in the education system of the Republic of Serbia: outcome oriented teaching, elective programs in high schools, project teaching, planning and implementation of teaching in accordance with the standard of qualifications, etc.

The portal is based on the Moodle Distance Learning Management System. Moodle is a complete and closed system, safe for teachers and students. All users of this platform have clearly defined privileges and roles.
The programs on the platform are diverse and consist of programmed content, useful resources, video materials and tests. Some of the programs are realized exclusively through the Internet, and some have a part that includes direct execution.
The invitation to apply for training is published on the platform homepage.
Upon approval by the Institute for the Advancement of Education, the teacher may access his / her application parameters, study contents, solve tests, set up his / her own materials, etc., depending on the planned activities and the dynamics of training.
After the training is successfully completed, the teacher can download his / her certificate from the website of the Institute for the Advancement of Education.
