The fatal flaw of this app compared with the PC version is that the camera angles cannot be changed at will. You have to touch the screen and then cycle through up to 8 different angles before you get to the one you want. This matters when you are riding in a group and want to swap between forward-facing and rear-facing. I can only use this app when I am not riding in a group. This would be easily fixed by having a toggle camera icon on the screen for the last two angles.
My favorite feature is there are no cars. This is the perfect solution for off season riding for me. The scenery and 3D environments are incredible, in one ride I can see dinosaurs, submarines and starfish, towers of red rock in a desert, massive trees like Redwoods, volcanic lava flows, or snowy mountain peaks. Downside: maps are too few, and majority of the routes are short. The social aspect of the game is strange, it's awkward to interact with other riders over text while riding.
Spending an hour trying to get this to connect on a regular basis is ridiculous. After uninstalling app multiple times. Installing updates on app and hardware didn't fix it. Bought a new phone, tablet, and HRM hoping it would fix it since those were somewhat older. Didn't fix it. Changing power cables on devices. Nothing works. Seems I'm not the only one having issues with this app connecting to the Tacx trainer or my phone or tablet, and other devices... Not worth the monthly service.
Wahoo kicker snap pairing with Android Google Pixel 6. Wouldn't connect. Couldn't detect the Kicker. Lots of online research and no exact videos. Really there should be no need to have 5 buttons to connect a device. Got it to work on my laptop. Still wasn't overly impressed. Has top notch graphics if made in the 90's.
This app is the wonderful and amazing unfair advantage in your training! You can ride with your friends all over the world, do events with some of the pro-riders, follow excellently designed training programmes, or just ride and be amazed at the magnificent graphics in the different worlds.
I can't believe this is the most popular training app. It's the worse service out there and the most unreliable. I've yet to finish a training with people without being disconnected or having issues with NRG giving me 250w when the training puts me at 150w. Everything is broken. Graphics are also 2000s like. Well, it's on mobile but I would have expected them to be better, considering most apps offers synchronized 4k videos from a real place while riding, which I find a lot more engaging... Even the desktop app hangs when opening it full screen because I have an ultrawide screen... Going back to Rouvy, it was soooo much better.
I think the app is great. However, I feel like it could and should be more transparent as to what the stats of items in the game are. I am talking about wheels and frames which have the same aero/weight rating but perform quite differently when tested. My issue is not that there is a difference but the fact that these are not clearly communicated, especially since these stats actually matter for races.
Loved it at first, I use it with a Tacx trainer, but tge connectivity issues are a nightmare right now. The forum doesn't seem to know how to answer my questions 😕 . Been "limping' along for a year! Gha!!! Frustration! When it works it's great.....but..... Update! The udates have worked out connectivity kinks. Yay! Rolling great!
Very fun and a new interest for trainer workouts. I've been a trainerroad user for 2.5 years now and was becoming very stagnated on it and was dreading trainer workouts. This is a very fun and distracting program that allows me to spend more than 90minutes on the trainer and not hate it. 2022 update: connection issues are ridiculous at times.
Quite basic graphics on an android tablet but genuinely very addictive once up and running. Why you would ever go out in the winter weather when this is available is beyond me. Definitely harder than imagined. We'll done Zwift.
Love this app...if it would work half the time! Newest update had my bike unpairing mid-ride for no reason. When I'd go into the pair screen it says it's still connected....also the app has never worked on my Samsung galaxy no matter how many updates they have had. Please fix these issues!
Finally figured out how to make this app work on my lenovo chromebook duet. I like the option of using my tablet instead of my laptop which takes forever to get it running. Have not experienced any issues when the app connects to my trainer which is the majority of the time.
I'll expend more time trying to set up the sensors than riding, even though I had an ANT USB. The app have some good training programs that can be set based on your goals. Unfortunately, the workouts from these specific programs won't be available to you 24/7. Instead, they'll have them available certain days of the week. Between work and Family time I just have a limited time frame during the week to workout but the programs won't have the workouts available on that time, defeating the purpose
One star here. Using a Kickr 5. Up to date driver. Connected once as a Controllable with drop outs during the ride and ERG switching itself off. Back at it tonight and won't connect at all. Going back to TrainerRoad that works first time every time. Version 100641.
Nothing more frustrating when you shoe detector won't accurately read your speed and you spend 35 minutes trying to calibrate your speed but it keeps failing and never get to do your workout. Uninstalling.
I use Zwift just for running. I wasn't a treadmill runner before, but recently had to get one in order to continue to run regularly, as outdoor running became impossible. Zwift has made it easy for me to stay motivated. The different workouts it introduces you too are great. I also like that total strangers can help motivate you with a thumbs up during your run. I currently use the app on my phone, which makes it a bit difficult to see everything while running. I think a tablet would be best.
I am really glad I subscribed. It's fun and challenging. But, if I could ask for some things, it would be an option to be sent a watopia world map to hang on the wall so I could more easily make my own routes and more options in the "other" worlds for riders that can't climb mountains. I think Makuri Islands is so popular because it has a variety of less intimidating routes. I'm nowhere near the athletic abilities of most of the riders on this app and never will be but I love it nonetheless.
Decent app, but could be better. Super slow to load and get into a run/ride. Annoying that you have to start a session to then be able to get into garage and other settings. Why can't this be done before hand? Like before even trying to pair, when I just want to take a look. Or expose these things in the companion app would be nice too so I don't have to load full app just to tweak things.
Terrible on a cell phone and iffy on a tablet. My phone is clearly picking up my speed/cadence sensor and smart trainer. The app itself is not picking up anything. On my tablet there's always a connection loss even though the tablet sees the devices just fine. When everything is working, Zwift is pretty nice, but the issue is it rarely works well. When you look it up online, it seems Zwift doesn't put much into Android/Chrome OS anyway. This app appears to be primarily for Apple and Windows.
Last autumn I decided to invest into a smart trainer and finaly tested out this app. Since I always had a training gap during winter period, this is a perfect combination for indoor training to me. I made 1050 km in the last 3 months (although I even had covid19 in the meantime), improved my FTP and VO2max significantly. I am in a better shape now than during the last summer period. I had no issues with ANT+ or connections. I can recommend the app. I just don't see why the frequent updates.
Overall, great! Could use some more features like, the ability to freewheel and the menu system is a bit clunky but nothing major. An issue I have found is that my weight from my Withings scale doesn't import? I need to enter it manually or disconnect then reconect to force a sync. Hope this can be fixed!
Terrible Bluetooth connectivity with my bowflex. Despite trying every troubleshooting technique available it will not connect to the bike. Giving it 1 star because I couldn't even try it. Brutal.
Doesn't run on Android. Won't connect to anything. Companion app runs and allows me to run zwift on my desktop. Cannot get this app to connect to my trainer. Again, companion app connects just fine.
Interface is poor. Not customisable enough. Information architecture of data required to balance training sessions is poor. Ride setup is abstract and awkward. Viewing previous data in app is all but impossible.
Doesn't pick up pace from Wahoo ant stride sensor. Unusable without this. Fixed with a Runn sensor. Zwift is fantastic, motivating software for a treadmill. Seems to be in beta version, menu buttons are hard to press when running & keep disappearing. Please enlarge the gradient incline & make it easier to understand, so I can set the treadmill accordingly.
