Awkward Penguin

Let's face it, new events can be pretty awkward. It's hard to start conversations with people you know nothing about and even harder to remember names and faces when you're meeting multiple people for the first time. Instead of using your phone as a means of escape, let Awkward Penguin help you break the ice and initiate a deeper first interaction with other event attendees.

Using multi-peer connectivity (through Bluetooth and Wifi), the app displays a visual representation of all the people connected to the event --allowing organizers a handy tool to see everyone in the room, send them important event agenda information, pick an attendee at random, or submit local push notifications to mark certain key moments in the day. The app allows all attendees the ability to read user input blurbs about one another and discover other event participants with similar background information in order to help facilitate conversation and a great first interaction between people. The app features a custom mini-game designed to enhance the user experience by allowing event attendees a fun way to collaborate with one another and learn each other's names in the process.

The app is programmed in Objective-C and utilizes the MultiPeerConnectivity framework as well as SpriteKit.

*Organizers use the key 'mcm' (without the quotes) to start your events!*
